The International Forestry Students’ Association Local Committee Universitas Gadjah Mada (IFSA LC UGM) proudly presents Open Door Day (ODD) 2025 "Start Your Journey with IFSA Academy" on Thursday, 11 September 2025. This event was organized by The Human Resources Development Commission of IFSA LC UGM, with the aim of promoting IFSA LC UGM to new batch student of General Forestry 2025 (GF 25) and Keluarga Mahasiswa Fakultas Kehutanan (KM FKT) by highlighting how involvement directly leads to the development of soft skills like communication, teamwork, and leadership, thereby offering benefit for personal growth. This approach shows participants that joining is not just about a cause, but investing in their own professional and interpersonal development.

Picture 2. The First Presentation Session
The first session of ODD 2025 featured an insightful presentation by Ferizta Hardika Putri, the President of IFSA LC UGM. The session covered a comprehensive overview of IFSA World and IFSA LC UGM. In this session, she introduced the organization's structure, its core values through its vision and mission, and the various projects it undertakes. The presentation was designed to inform and inspire, demonstrating how joining IFSA can be a transformative experience for students, providing a platform for personal and professional growth within the field of forestry through intensive collaboration with international people.

Between the first and second presentation sessions, the event was interspersed with light ice breaking led by the event division, Pasha. The session was held to maintain the excitement within participants before they continued participating in the next session .

Picture 4. The Second Presentation Session
The second session of the ODD 2025 featured an inspiring presentation by Faiha Azka Azzahira, who is an IFSA LC UGM’s alumna. Faiha shared her personal journey and experiences with the organization. She focused on the delegation opportunities she pursued through IFSA, showing what it's like to represent the university and country on an international stage. Faiha also shared how the skills and experiences gained from IFSA, such as networking, leadership, and multicultural communication, have been instrumental in shaping her professional career. Furthermore, she encouraged participants to push past their fears and self-doubt, emphasizing that stepping outside of their comfort zone is essential for seizing these life-changing opportunities.

Picture 5. The Commission Parade Session
The Commission Parade was one of the most exciting highlights of the program. Each commission —Human Resource Development (HRD), Language, Forestry Education, Media and Communication—of the organization brought their own energy, creativity, and identity to the room, presenting unique taglines and lively performances to introduce their commission. This session created a cheerful and fun atmosphere where new students could get to know each commission in an engaging way, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm to join in the organization.

The Booth Visit was designed to give participants an interactive and engaging introduction to each commission within the organization. Participants were divided into four groups, each led by the Board of Directors, and rotated from one booth to another. At every booth, each commission presented materials to introduce their commission, while participants enjoyed fun games, answered questions, and earned treats as rewards. This dynamic setup allowed participants to learn about each commission in a lively and hands-on way.

A special handover was presented to the most active participants and the winners of the ice-breaking session. This moment served as an appreciation for their active involvement and a motivation for others to participate more fully in future activities. Certificate of appreciation was presented to the speakers at the end of the session. This handover symbolized the organization’s respect and acknowledgment of the speaker’s time, effort, and insights shared with the participants. The presentation of these awards was carried out by the Project Officer.

As the event drew to a close, all participants and the organizing committee gathered for a group photo to capture the spirit and memories of the day. On behalf of the organizing team, heartfelt gratitude was extended to all participants for their active involvement, to the speaker for their valuable insights, to the Board of Directors for their support, and to the Head of HRD Commission for the help in making the event possible. Appreciation was also given to all HRD and organization members whose hard work and collaboration ensured the success of this program. The documentation session served as a warm and memorable finale, highlighting the collective effort that made the event truly meaningful.
