On March 7th, 2023, IFSA LC UGM sent their delegates to the 6th Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) Investment Case Symposium with the theme “Luxembourg Finance for Nature: What Comes Next?”. This year, IFSA LC UGM sent five delegates which are Anninda Andriyani and Ari Marwa Nur Setyaningrum as IFSA LC UGM’s delegates, as well as Fiana Eka Aprilia, Vincentius Andri Kiranu Pasquale, and Bintang Ridzky Alfathi as IFSA’s delegates.
At the 6th GLF Investment Case Symposium, they attended this event online via live streaming from Luxembourg. They attended twenty–one sessions with many experts as the speaker. For example, they got Namita Vikas for an interview about the opportunities and challenges of finance for nature in India. She talked about financing for nature means recognizing the challenges of maintaining capital gains and conserving nature at the same time while providing solutions that go beyond protecting nature and also guaranteeing economic stability in low-income countries.

From Indonesia, they got Dyah Puspitaloka as a speaker. In the interview, she explained that investment for nature is really important for sustainable climate finance. This investment can be a contribution by companies engaged in non-environmental fields to contribute to environmental sustainability.

Apart from the interview session, there was an inspirational talk session with Diego Creimer. He said that the need to get to the sustainable finance tipping point where finance for nature becomes acceptable is understanding the double dependency that links our economies to the natural world, called double materiality.

Furthermore, they had an expert session discussing sustainable conservation finance from incubation to operations. In this session, they learned that emerging markets are one of the most promising solutions for conservation impacts to deliver long-term finance. They got a lot of knowledge from this GLF Investment Case Symposium.

Finally, they have completed their delegation tasks well. All the hard work was not only done by the delegation, but also by the Board of Directors who guided the preparation before and after the delegation. They really thank God and friends for their help so far. This delegation experience is the most valuable in their lives.
